General Singing Lessons

Most of my work is with professional singers and voice users in functional difficulty — that work lives on [the 1-to-1 Voice Work page]. But I also keep a small amount of capacity for general singing lessons, alongside the specialist practice.

Who this is for

If you're learning to sing, returning to it after time away, working on confidence, or just want to develop your voice without a particular health concern — this is the right page.

I work with adult singers across most genres: classical, musical theatre, jazz, pop, contemporary, and the cross-genre work that sits between them. I don't work with rock or heavy metal singers, who are better served by specialists in those styles.

If you're a beginner, that's welcome. If you're an experienced singer wanting to refine technique without a specific issue to resolve, that's welcome too.

How it works

Sessions follow the same shape as the rest of my one-to-one work: a focused warm-up and assessment, followed by tailored technique and repertoire work, with exercises to take away. Lessons can be one-off, regular weekly or fortnightly, or block-booked across a term.

General singing lessons are online only, via Zoom. For in-person work, the 1-to-1 Voice Work page covers the specialist practice based at my East London studio.

A note on fit

If something specific is going on with your voice — persistent strain, a voice that hasn't recovered after illness, a coach has flagged "muscle tension," or you've been to a voice clinic — the 1-to-1 Voice Work page is the right starting point. The two pages cover different work.

If you're not sure which is right for you, the free 20-minute consultation is the way to figure it out.
